6 Ways To Get Rid Of A Musty House Smell
Is your house a little too stuffy these days? Maybe you could do with a change? Then it’s time to change the atmosphere and focus on bringing some light into your house; so here’s a few simple and easy ideas for doing just that!
Open the Window
The easiest solution. Open a window when you need some ventilation and sit yourself down by it when you need a breeze on your face. It might not be the be all end all for your atmosphere needs, but it’s a quick solution for some fresh air.
Use Baking Soda
When you’re airing your house out, don’t forget to deodorize. You don’t want odours to be making the air more stuffy even after you’ve invested in all of these other methods! And you can do this naturally by sprinkling baking soda on your carpet, waiting for a couple of hours, and then vacuuming it all up.
Put Down Some Fans
Fans are great for short term airing, and for getting a good blast of air when your air conditioning is on the fritz or doesn’t operate in every room in your house. Place them strategically in the room, usually on opposite sides to one another, and you’ll create some good back and forth here. Cool and fresh air needs to be supplemented when you only have small fans working for you, after all.
Get Air Conditioning
Air conditioning is something your house could really use when it’s getting stuffy, humid, and all you can feel is the sun. And if yours isn’t working, now would be a good time to get it fixed for the more dire times of the year that are coming up. Don’t worry, we have solutions: you can head to https://www.penair.com.au/ if you need any help with that, or if you need a complete system overhaul. Splash out now and thank yourself later!
Keep Doors Open
Opening the doors means air can flow freely throughout your house, and you’re not going to be wasting any of that good, fresh air you got from opening the windows. So open up all the doors (even to your teenager’s bedroom if you’ve got one!), and get your house to work as a wind tunnel.
Close the Door
Yes, this is opposite to the above! But if you’re not going to be using a room, open the window and close the door. Voila! You’ll have a chill place to relax in, especially if you do this for your bedroom. It’s worth it considering the perfect sleeping conditions humans are meant to go to bed in: chilly with some blankets.
So now that you’ve got some ideas in the bag, do you feel like the atmosphere isn’t as unforgiving as it’s made out to be? There’s so many people who just sit in sweltering pits they call a living room, and don’t even have the grace to humidify the air! Don’t let yourself be that person by using these tips.
