Road Test: Seasack Hands Free Beach Bag

Road Test: Seasack Hands Free Beach Bag

Here at 17 Bright Ideas, we are all about finding great things and letting you know about them.

This week’s Road Test is the SeaSack Hands Free Beach Bag

What is it?

Seasack is the ultimate beach bag (and the only bag you’ll need).  It comes in 2 sizes either large or extra large. It is waterproof, has loads of pockets and holds unto 25kg of all your beach ‘stuff’ – things like towels, beach chairs, food and drink, clothes and toys. It’s a bag or backpack that really holds everything!

The RRP is $49.00 for the Large and $59.00 for Extra Large (in US Dollars) plus shipping costs and it can be purchased online. For more details, visit the Seasackthebag.com.

Now lets move onto the Road Test! We also know that you are pretty busy so here is what Vicki loved in 17 Bright Ideas style:

It’s the only bag you will need – I have 4 kids and when we go to the beach, the swimming pool or on a picnic I typically end up with 3 or 4 small bags that I carry on my arms plus extra things that don’t fit into bags. Now, I only need one bag. The SeaSack really does fit everything! We had towels, change of clothes, floaties and food – all in the one bag! It’s also great to just put down one bag and not feel like your things are everywhere. When someone asks where is my towel, you can say “In the bag”. It also is great to throw everything into one bag at the end of the day. I didn’t have to think about what fits in which bag. I loved it!

What I fit into the SeaSack

It can be carried a few different ways – Not only does the SeaSack have good, strong handles, it also had a longer adjustable strap so you can carry it over one shoulder but what makes this bag really special is that it also has padded backpack straps. This bag doesn’t make the things you carry lighter but because you can carry the SeaSack as a back pack, it distributes the weight better and makes things easier to carry. It also means you have 2 hands free to hold onto young people when crossing the road or free to open doors or find keys etc. That is so great!

Carrying the SeaSack

It’s strong – The SeaSack is really well built. I’ve had lots of beach bags over the years and many of them just don’t last the distance when travelling to the beach. Straps break or zippers snap. Then, I’ve also used shopping bags and these last even less time. I’ve only had my SeaSack for a few weeks but I’ve used it a couple of times and I feel really confident that it will last the distance. It’s made from durable, water resistant material and cleans up very easily.

It’s got pockets  – There are great pockets on both sides of the bag. Two are netting so you can easily see what is inside and is great for things like sunscreen, drink bottles and chips. There is also an opaque pocket on the outside for keys and a phone. There is also a pocket divider inside the bag so you can separate towels from food or clean clothes etc. It really helps to be organised.

It’s huge – The SeaSack comes in two sizes (and two colours). I tried the XL and it was so big that I think I could have fit quite a bit more into my bag if I needed to. The only limiting factor is how much weight you can carry. On the SeaSack website they say you can fit beach chairs into it and I believe it. Boogie boards, buckets, beach huts – I am sure they will all fit in this bag – brilliant!

The SeaSack

Has it been a Bright Idea?

Yes.  I really, really loved it. I loved that I felt more organised knowing everything was in the same bag. I felt great that I could get my husband to carry the one bag we had and I didn’t have to carry anything!! I loved that it looked good and bright. I loved that I didn’t look like a big mess when I put down all my things at the beach. I also loved that all I needed to do was put the bag in the laundry when we got home and easily transfer dirty and wet clothes into the washing machine without missing a bag. The only thing where you need to think a bit is when packing the bag…The zip is on the top of the bag but you turn the Seasack sideways to carry it on your back, so you need to think where to put bottles or heavy items so you can carry as a back pack.

Who are they a Bright Idea for?

– Families. If you are a family that likes to get out and about, then this is the perfect bag. You’ll be organised and hands free – you’ll love it!

– Beach loves. Visiting the beach on a regular basis, this bag is a must. You could easily take all your things on public transport to visit the beach or throw your one bag into the back of a car.
