Celebrating Your Child’s Birthday On A Budget

Celebrating Your Child’s Birthday On A Budget

Celebrating your child’s birthday is one of the great joys of being a parent. You have the freedom to plan something fun for them and also bring out your own childlike wonder for an afternoon.

But not all of us have a massive budget to spend on a party and it can leave us feeling stuck on the best way to plan a great bash. But you don’t need to hire a massive venue for your child’s birthday party, and there are still plenty of ways to make the most out of the day. You can stay at home and celebrate in your own backyard, and here are some helpful ideas for you to try this year.

Hire some entertainment

If you are planning to have your party at home to save some money, this means you can spend a little bit more on the entertainment. For younger kids especially, an entertainer such as Andy’s Antics can be a great call and it will keep the kids occupied for a few hours and allow you to save on other things.

One of the best things about being a parent is meeting other parents who have kids around the same age as yours. If you have a couple of kids birthdays that fall in the same month, the best way to save money is organise a joint party for them both. You can hire out a McDonalds or have a garden party and put your funds together to create a fun party with double the kids and half the cost!

Have a picnic

One great way to save some money on a traditional party is to get together with other parents and kids and meet up for a picnic. This will allow everyone to bring their own snacks and drinks and you can organise a little scavenger hunt for the kids to keep them occupied while you enjoy the sunshine.

Get crafty

Why buy a ton of expensive party invitations when you can make them yourself? Grab yourself some paper and pens and have fun creating your own unique party invitations that will save you a ton of money. You can even let the birthday boy or girl make their own invitations and that will be even easier for you!

Make the cake

Buying those massive birthday cakes from Costco is a great idea but it can cost a pretty penny. One way to save some money on the birthday cake for your child is to make the cake yourself. You can either buy a box cake mix or make your own mix and fill with a simple buttercream and top with some frosting. You can decorate in your own way and this will be a cute way to show your child how much you love them on their special day.

Free entertainment

One easy way to bring some fun to a party without spending money is put on your bluetooth speaker. Download some Disney songs and other kids party music and allow this to fill the house or venue for less money than a DJ.
