How To Speed Clean Your Bathroom

Posted May 26, 2017 by Vicki Radford

Would you love to speed clean your bathroom? The bathroom is one of the busiest rooms in the house, from the mad rush to get in there first thing in the morning to its constant use throughout the day. For that reason, it is important to stay on top of the cleaning of it. After all, you don’t want to deter your visitors from using the room if you suspect it resembles a crime scene!

If you have a guest arriving imminently, or you just don’t have the time to clean your bathroom thoroughly, it is time to speed clean your bathroom. Follow this handy guide for giving your bathroom a quick sparkle.

Open a window:
Your bathroom may not be smelling the freshest it’s ever been, so open a window to let in some fresh air. You should also make sure you open the window every time you take a shower or a bath. This gives the room ventilation, reducing the risk of black mould populating your walls and ceiling.

Spray everything:
Using a bathroom cleaner formulated with bleach, spray the surfaces of the sink and bath. It will take time to dissolve, giving you the opportunity to work in other areas of the bathroom. Just remember to remove any towels or clothing before you spray so it doesn’t get discoloured.

Flush the loo:
Using a cup of bleach, pour into the toilet bowl and scrub it around the edges of the rim. Leave it to work and dissolve the grime, go and do something else, then flush again a little while later.

Make glass shine:
Save some money and fill a spray bottle with water and white vinegar and spray onto a microfibre cloth to rub down the glass on your mirrors and shower doors. It will also make your taps and countertops shine, too. For a longer lasting effect, use nano kote glass coating products which can be used on any surface, adding protective layers over your surfaces to alleviate further mould and grime issues.

Use a lemon:
Believe it or not, scrubbing down your metal faucets with a lemon is an effective way to clean. It will make your room smell fresh, and the acid within the lemon will get rid of those difficult to clean hard water stains. Alternatively, using a cloth soaked in white vinegar will do the trick just as well. Both options will save you money, so you don’t always need to use expensive cleaning products.

White vinegar is your friend:
To be honest, white vinegar has so many cleaning uses; you might want to permanently store it in your bathroom. As well as removing difficult stains, you can also use it in your toilet. Not only will it kill all bacteria lurking within, but it will destroy all the built up scum as well. Use it on the surface of the toilet bowl and under the rims, giving it an extra sparkle while leaving it germ-free. You can even add some lemon juice to give it a better smell.

Use flowers:
For the finishing touch, not only will a fresh vase of flowers add extra fragrance to the room, but it will also make it look aesthetically pleasing as well.

Now you know how to speed clean your bathroom, you’ll never be caught by surprise.
