Maple Choc Chip Oaty Slice

Maple Choc Chip Oaty Slice

Sue Prichard

I have adapted this recipe from one I found on Best Recipes submitted by “MumofThree”.  The original recipe includes sultanas and honey, however I adapted it to dietary needs of my daughter (temporarily fructose intolerant when very young) and replaced the honey with maple syrup and the sultanas with choc chips.  I have made these so many times as they are so easy and have always had a great response.

  • 1 cup oats
  • ½ cup baking choc chips
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • ½ cup self raising flour
  • ½ cup coconut
  • 120g margarine
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup

Preheat oven to 180C.  Spray a slice or lamington tray with spray oil and line with baking paper.  Mix oats, sugar, flour and coconut in a bowl.   Melt margarine and maple syrup together in a saucepan.  Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and mix well.  Spread into tray and press down.  Sprinkle with choc chips and press down.  Bake for 15 mins.  Allow to cool in pan and cut into squares.
